A modern take on the short sword-like smatchet promoted by WW2 close combat expert William Fairbairn.
Limited edition item manufactured by Buck Knives around 1990 for Rex Applegate’s Wells Creek Knife and Gun Works.
The design reflects aspects of Fairbairn’s Fairsword.
Full tang construction with 4.7mm stock and 70mm depth. Blade length is 256mm and full length is 405mm. Applegate and Fairbairn etched signatures.

Includes original nylon sheath.

Collectors’ item in excellent condition. Never used or sharpened.
