Collectable ‘Dewey’ Australian Made Hatchet with Deer Antler Handle
Dewey Australian Made Hatchet
From Dewey Knives, this is a lovely older model Hatchet made by Robert Dewey Australia and stamped on the blade is: ” DEWEY Made in Australia”
*Please read full description and see detailed images which form part of the description.
A lovely piece, rare and probably not very many made as Robert Dewey (Engineer and Knife Maker) retired some years ago.
A hefty full tang blade with a beautiful figured Sambar Deer Antler handle which is glued and pinned with 8 Brass Pins and it also has a Lanyard Hole.
As described by John Dunn in his book ‘DEWEY KNIVES’ his knives and edged blades had ‘No bells and whistles’ and were made with practical use in mind.
This lovely axe/hatchet has never been used or sharpened and retains its original edge and as per the detailed images it has some real nice ‘Patina’ on the steel wher it has just been stored.
This adds to the character of this piece and would be a great addition to the ‘DEWEY’ collector or those wanting to collect purely Australian made edged weapons.
